  • Woah…

So we had our first full band jam yesterday in the studio and you know
what?  It was pretty awesome. Everything worked, I was so
happy.  Though we were missing Domonic, cause his mother was
sick.  Hope she’s better…  Had a pretty chill night.
Went home and hung out for a bit.  Solomon didn’t go out cause his
friends all kinda went crazy and the organizer went MIA.  Weird
but funny.  We just stayed home watched some Friends and I went to
    bed.

Kinda slow actually but I had fun  I think I also mound my
favorite class in International News.  Thomas Abraham, is a more
fun teacher this semester than last.  I think the classess are
smaller and the setting more intimate.  It’s pretty cool.

If there was any confusion with my story two entries ago… there’s an explanation.

I was in Stanley getting some rugby shirts, cause I need some for the
coming Sevens tournaments.  I also realized that the shop in
Stanley was going to be closed, because the HK IRB was being assholes
and shutting that guy down unless he comes up with a million dollars to
save his business.  So I thought that I would do my part to get
    him going.

So I’m browsing through the England Rugby Polos and I realize that they
are huge shirts.  I mean, when I get a shirt at Quicksilver, I
usually get a medium, but when I put on the small, it was too
big.  The sleeves actually went to my elbows.  I have not had
a sleeve reach my elbows since I was 18 and 190 pounds.

I’m standing there talking to Jo, and I’m like I really want these
shirts but they don’t fit me.  Then all of a sudden the dude who
owns the place goes, get a kids size.  I freak out, what?
Kids sizes, you’re kidding me.  But then I figure, that if the
adult sizes are larger than normal, the kids sizes should also be too.

So I take the largest kid size, 12 years old, BTW, and I put it
on.  A perfect fit.  I mean it doesn’t get to be a better
size than that.  I was so happy and excited.  I was like no
shit.  So I get an away and a home jersey, and I’m all set.
I’ll probably just wear the white one to games and the navy blue one
    out of the house….

So there you have it kids, I am a 12 year old again.  Not like I never was.

Iranians turn on Danish pastries in cartoon row

Wed Feb 15, 9:09 AM ET

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Not content with pelting European
embassies with petrol bombs to protest against cartoons of the
Prophet Mohammad, Iranians have decided to rename the “Danish
pastries” relished by this nation of cake lovers.

From now on, the sweet, flaky pastries which dominate the
    shelves in

Iran‘s cake shops will be known as “Roses of the
Prophet Mohammad,” the official IRNA news agency reported as
pressure on Denmark over the cartoons took on a new dimension.

“No one is allowed to make fun of our beloved and respected
Prophet,” Hassan Nasserzadeh, a cake-shop owner in central
    Tehran, told Reuters.

The pastries are baked every day and are not imported or
subject to any boycott of Danish goods imposed over the
    cartoons.

The Iranian move had echoes of the verbal food fight set
off by restaurants in the U.S. House of Representatives which
renamed “French fries” and “French toast” as “Freedom fries”
and “Freedom toast” after France refused to back the U.S.-led
    invasion of

    Iraq in 2003.

  • Crap

Today was nerve racking.  But in the end, I felt better.  Spent a lot of time soul searching and talking with my friends.  Getting a lot off my chest and just having a nice time.  Lunch was in SOHO and Dinner was with Solomon near home.

School inbetween was pretty chill, though I enjoy my Advanced writing class now.  I at first had a little trouble with it last week, but now that we are finally into the class I am really enjoying it.

These days have been emotionally rough for me.  I have been going through my head what has been happening and I am realizing a lot of things.  There are only a few things in my life I am sure about in terms of relationships.

My relationship with God, my family and my friends.  Anything outside of that, I can never be sure about .  They fluctuate all over the place.  But I have to say, that at the end of the day, my Relationship with God is the single most important thing for me.

And in the recent days, it has not been the best.  Lord, I kow I do not nearly consult you enough on the decisions I make, and I kinow I should do it a lot more.  Sometimes, I just want things to go my way, but when they do they are messed up.  So I guess I should just let you handle the situation.

Whatever happens I promise I will commit to the cause remain good and faitful to myself, you and those around me.

I hope that I can be better at this and just learn to trust in you, and let you help me with making decisions in my life.

  • Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

So…Today.  hmmm… What can I say about today.  was a day for risks.  I saw my family, and my friends, and we just hung out and stuff.  But at a night where everyone with with their loving someone, I went to Yoshinoya and ate alone.  But there’s something I don’t get about Hong Kong guys.

Why is it, that some guys would take their girlfriends to Yoshinoya and have a Valentines dinner there.  You already spent the effort looking good and getting flowers, A fast food Japanese restaurant is not the most romantic place.

Granted I understand that some times, finances are tougher to come by and stuff.  But sometimes, that is even better.  You know, get some food, go to a park and sit and eat.  That’s romantic too.  Nothing says that you have to spend a lot, but spend the right amount to make the night as special as you can.  And not, just eat at a fast food restaurant.

If I was a girl, and I knew that my boyfriend was creative with what he had, man I would be a happy person.  And totally respect.  But if he took me to say, Cafe De Coral, I would be pissed.  Having said that, on to our next topic.

So, I spent about 2 hours talking to my favorite 15 year old.  Actually the only 15 year old I know.  and we were talking about her Mandarin class.  Today, her class exercise was write down the 5 things they disliked about the opposite sex… I was thinking, if I was a girl this is what I would say about mem.

    1.   Men never have tissues when people need it most. (Stop relying on Women.)
    2.   Men never admit they are wrong.(This is also true, you just won’t admit it)
    3.   Men are lazy. (Or else we would do more)
    4.   Men are useless at home. (admit it we can’t do shit)
    5.   Men complain about women’s vanity, but they are worse. (Don’t deny it)

I love women, so things are cool with them…

Words of wisdom of the day for you…

  • Had to get my car fixed today.  The brakes were making silly
noises.  Turns out my break pads are all scratched away, and the
wire in my horn is messed up.  Now I have my car at 100% so that’s
    cool.

Sunday was one of the best days I had in the world.  It started weird but the afternoon made up for anything bad.

I was confused with Church being in Wan Chai, and also all 100,000
people in Hong Kong running for the Standard Charterd Marathon.
The Finish Line was right by church.  It was cool, but weird, and
because of them, I had to park a 10mins walk away.  At 7am… that
made me pretty cranky.  And then to top that morning off, I lost
my parking ticket, and since they are a normally expensive lot, they
made me pay 24hrs worth of parking, which was 576 dollars.

But then lunch was fantastic with mom and dad, and then my afternoon
with Cathy was the most fun I have ever had in a long long time.
Dinner with Jo was good too so it makes up for anything that happened
    in the morning.

Cathy and I found some fantastic speakers for 320 dollars in Mong Kok
for her friend, and she needed me to help her with some
headphones.  2.1 speakers that had great sound and they were so
simple.  I was really quite excited.  We hung out for the
whole afternoon, and just talked mac stuff, music, culture and
    everything else.

By the way, if you ever crave for soem Beef Brisket, Gau Gei has a
major competition, and to me this new place is winning the battle for
me.  I think Gau Gei is starting to slip a bit and losing some of
that quality.  It’s in Tin Hau.  i forgot the name of the
place though… I’ll tell you next time.
