Month: December 2005

  • Damn,
It’s been a while since I have posted and I apologize.  With the
coming move, which is finally done, and the completion of my WTO
project, I neither had the time nor the desire to do my updating.
Now that I finally am all setup on the Internet and relaxed at my
house, I can finally go back to writing this damn thing.

Now, today’s entry is going to be a pretty intense one I am sure… not
because there is a lot to update.  On the contrary, I have decided
that I am going to screw updating the shit that happened recently, and
instead just going to write about my last two days.

Which happened to have been the worst 24-hour spread I have had in a while.  Horrible things happened one after another

Now I have moved into my new home, and just started to get really
adjusted to everything.  It’s stressful enough that I gotta move
home right after the largest project I could ever have, but to do it
with all the stuff I have… sigh.

So anyway, I was at home with the cats, which just arrived two nights
ago, and I realize that yesterday morning, Puffy is sneezing and Potter
is throwing up.  And choking, so I am a bit worried about what to
    do.

So I find out there is a 24hr. animal clinic who is actually not too far whom where I live.  And I get excited.

Take note, my 24hr of pain begins.  As I head over to the clinic,
and talk the doctors, I find out that Puffy is fine save for a few
sniffles, but Potter has gas in his stomach and intestinal tract.
So he is having trouble getting that out.

I am freaking out at this point, though the doctor assures me that I have nothing to worry about.

Then I go outside pick up my medicine, and a bill for 3000
dollars.  2000, for post midnight consultation, without
    appointment, and 650 for potter’s x-ray, then medicine…

So I drive on home and proceed to take care of the cats and I kinda
fall asleep on my bed.  I wake up the next morning, and find out
that my car has been towed away cause I forgot I was parked illegally.

So with no car in the morning, I trudge back up, and went back to sleep
for 15mins.  Till I was woken up by the sound of my own head
reminding me that Solomon’s contractor is coming up to fix his room.

Fine, I open the door, and then I sort my shit out. And then wait for
the Internet guy to show up.  At this point I had already added,
getting bit by my cat twice because I tried to feed it medicine, and
then realizing I need those fingers for a show tomorrow.

Now this Internet guy didn’t show up yesterday morning, and I was
already mad then that he wasn’t there so I just left home at when he
didn’t show up yesterday.  But he does the same thing again.
He says between 2-4 and he shows at 4.  Then what does he do,
spend 3 and a half hours doing fuckall.

He finally got me on the Internet, but he was such an amateur and
obviously didn’t know what he was doing, and kept calling someone and
    asking for help.

    Sigh.

Then I am off to Repulse Bay, at around midnight, to switch cars with
my dad cause I need his big car to transport drums to the show I will
be having on Friday, even though I have two bruised fingers courtesy of
    Potter.

So anyway, I get to repulse bay and find out that my dad’s car is so
out of battery, that I can’t even use the remote to open the car, and I
have to manually put everything in.  Now the problem is I have to
be at the airport at 1pm and I need to get this car moving before 12pm
or else I will be late…

Now I am at home so I can move the Roland drums set down… Not going to sleep for long tonight.  I can feel it… Sigh.

    Hope you fare better today…

  • Dear ECC family members…

Due to events today over WTO, the elders and staff have decided to
cancel church tomorrow. this has been a very difficult decision to make
but we feel like it is the wisest one. PLEASE contact every one in your
groups and those others of the ECC church family that you have contact
with and have them spread the news that church is cancelled tomorrow.
the church web site will have the latest news posted and will be
    updated… thanks for your faithfulness…

    Pastor Tobin.

    Dear God,
I pray that you keep a watchful eye over Hong Kong tonite and in the
coming days.  I pray that you look after the protestors, the
police, and anyone else who may be affected by the results of the
protest.  I  pray that though things have gotten a little
rough, that they will soon be under control and the rest of Hong Kong
can sleep tonite.  I thank you for our police force who are still
out there ar 5:00am standing firm, and just doing their job.  I
thank you that we live in a land where we are free to express our
opinion without persecution.  I thank you for all blessings and
lessons which we can learn from and improve on the next time around.

Thank You and I pray with all these things in your name I pray,
    Amen

  • Sad day today…

  • So Keon is getting married tomorrow, and he asked me yesterday to be
his Best man.  Well I am super honored to be his best man, but you
know what.  I think that less than 48hours before you get married
is a little tight in timing for a wedding.  The fact that I have
to give a speech too is going to be tense.  But I digress.

Anyway, I bought a new tie for the wedding and it is sweet.  Not
nearly as nice still as the tie my dad got from Kent and Kurwen which I
heavily covet.  My dad’s tie is so nice that I sit there, usually
the one who has the better style, and just stare and how nice and slick
he looks… Damn, my dad kicking my ass in looks… sheer joy.

  • WTO Day TWO

I’m just finally finished getting sick

  • WTO DAY ONE

Today marks the beginning of the end.  I really do not know what
is going on inside the Convention Centre, but outside, things are
pretty exciting.  I woke up to a newer and more sterile version of
Wan Chai, and it is pretty exciting.  People are getting up
earlier to beat the traffic  diversions and generally try to avoid
the security checks going to their offices around the HKCEC.

I on the other hand had the joy of just going to school with nothing to
worry about, other than a straight road and bunch of people who decided
to go to work late. The streets were almost empty and CausewayBay and
Central, were rather quiet for a weekday.

Korean protester who arrived in waves ont he day before were assembled
on the grass area of Victoria Park, and seeing them at their full
capacity was amazing.  there were at least 1700 people who flew in
specially from Korea to tell the rest of the world that WTO was
    Bollocks…

Well, It was an amazing sight.  The the football field (the hard
one) was saved for the local contingents who were also against
WTO.  Protests begin early in the morning and last well into the
    afternoon.

Some of them march, some of them stay and sit.  There were statues
representing the harmful effects of WTO, and some sad accounts of
things that happened to people as a result of some of the
    Organization’s policies.

So we shall see what happens.  I’m dressed like a candy cane today
in my red and white stripped shirt, and you know what.  Aside from
all of this work, I am in the Christmas Mood.  It feels
good.  See you all when I see you…

  • I wanted to have an entry every day of the week this week, and since I
missed that I was quite upste for the weekend. But at least I finished
every weekday so I am proud of myself. I have not been a dedicated
Xanga updater for quite a while now so this is nice.

    So how is
everyone doing in INternet land. I have started packing my stuff up and
you know what? I have so many things… IT is scary. I think it make
take a few attempts at moving.  Sigh, but I am moving on to bigger
and better thingsa nd that will be a good thing.

Sothis begins my second attempt at blogging, every single day.
What I did lat week was pretty good actually.  I pretty much blog
every weekday and Sunday do a little weekend roundup.  But now I
    am just getting lazy.

    But we shall see.

I went to the airport yesterday and took pictures of the farmners that
were arriving into Hong Kong to Protest the WTO and how bad they treat
the common people.  There were quite a bit, and the atmosphere was
    intesnse.

Lots of Police officers and some drug enforcement officers, plus a german shepherd named Harry.  Cute.

  • Man I had to get a new phone yesterday cause the last phone I got
didn’t have a vibrate mode to it.  I mean come on, who the hell
makes a phone without vibrate.  It’s like a Car without
wheels.  That is one of the most basic and important functions in
having a telephone and I don’t have it.

I usually keep my phone on silent and I don’t even have vibrate and
that makes it even harder for me to get calls.  I couldn’t listen
to my iPod when I was walking before because I could miss a phone
call.  But waht good did that do, cause I still missed the
calls.  Hong Kong is so damn loud that I can’t hear my own damn
    phone.

I asked them, the phone I had before was the only phone in the current
line of Nokia series that didn’t have vibrate.  Why make and sell
the damn phone… shit.  I was so mad at the company, that It was
    driving me crazy.

So I went and got the N70, which is one step down froom the flip phone
2.0 Camera N90.  But you know what.  the 70 also has a 2.0
Camera so screw that crap.  Man I’m so stupid I should ahve
checked.  Sigh… And then I was going to trade the older phone in
but they told me it was too new.

I hate my own damn stupidity.  I thought that they other phone would have been super cool to have, but i guess not.

Anyway, I realised I still have more to do than I thought reagarding
the WTO project.  I have to spend maybe all of tonite figuring out
how the darn site works.  And that to me is the number one
    priority.

Nothing else seems as important.  Church on Sunday then work work
work… Then WTO WTO WTO WTO WTO….  then mom comes back and I
    move… Holy crap…

  • I was up till late working on 3 assignments that were due today.
I keep reminding myself not to wait to do things the last minute, but
then I am late in reminding myself so I have to rely on others to help
me out of my little pickle.

    Damn I need a new brain…

  • Solomon came back yesterday… Quite happy about that… I can finally eat nice food again ha ha… and by nice food I mean… well I’m sure you get the idea.

Went up to the studio when I had a little down time this afternoon, and it is looking pretty good. Though they have somewhat slowed down in their speed of work, I will be making the final payments soon and then before CHristmas, ti will be mine. And dthen after that I will never leave the island again… ha ha…

Still getting ready for my move. I found a place… Well mommy found me a pretty nice place near school and I am thinking on moving on the 24th of December… My mom comes back next week so that should be pretty cool. I am excited about going to a bigger place. But I think i will get a roomate too cause my options for apartments are all much bigger with multiple rooms, and that will make things pretty good but It is pricey for me to pay… We shall see.

My mom is amazing to find these places for me at such good prices. I guess the economy is not as good…
