Helloo…
alright enough of the journalistic stuff and back to real writing.Over the weekend I did some cool stuff. Instead of going to school on satruday morning, the class went to Cyberport in Aberdeen to a video studio. They did some news type programmeing. it was a full set and everything. Quite cool.
We were all here not just to look at a studio. If life were only that simple. we were there to do a mock standup for class. and it was completely nerver racking.
But I gotta tell you it was fun and I love being infront of a Camera.
Here is what happened… So we were supposed to be there prepared with a story we were all going to talk about. but somehow I missed that detail so I was completely unprepared. I was sweating and starting to freak out. Peple were going up and they were all doing great jobs, and I was like Damn I’m gonna suck I did nothing I have nothing.
I was going to have to think of it on the spot and that was scaring. It is not easy to think on your toes like that. You have to look convincing and look like you know what are talking about. But sigh… I had nothing I could talk about.
Someone had brought a news paper to the studio and I was flipping through it frantically to see if I could find something to talk about.
then I thought, what do I enjoy talking about. Music, Movies, films, sports… and I had my head eventually settled on two news items. Roy Kean leaving Manchester United or Harry Potter premiere. I settled on Harry Potter…
And my standup was done, as a reporter talking from the premiere redcarpet. I did the best to make it exciting… And I think I did ok. But not to sound insanely arrogant, I gotta say I love being infront of a camera. I couldn’t get used to looking into the Camera, but I still liked it.
What we did, was I told Jim, (my prof.) that I was going to talk about harry potter.. and then we did this whole moke thing. he asked me questions like a anchor would ask a on locaton reporter some questions.
It was fun. A DVD will be made of our screen tests, and based on how much I like you, you may see it.
